While this isn't my favorite Fallout, it is the best of the 3D era, and leaps and bounds ahead of anything that Bethesda Game Studios did themselves. Occasionally thins will break, though, and that is something to be taken in mind.
Thankfully, by this point, they are almost all humorous and nothing more. Of course, it wouldn't be without bugs, thanks to Bethesda's buggy game engine. The writers recounted stellar stories, and the passion is quite clear in it. Want a tale of greed and how it pervades society for all eternity? Play Dead Money. Want campy B-movie sci-fi? Play Old World Blues. The DLCs only add more, with each having a unique flair. Compared to 3, it provides significantly more choice, divergence, and player creativity, and the tales told can be interesting, if not moving.
All that is made up for by the writing and quest design of Obsidian. Yes, the graphics are extremely dated, but they were in 2010 as well. I could probably go on for paragraphs about New Vegas, but I'll just quickly summarize: New Vegas is an excellently written, crafted, and designed world.
